April 26 2012- April 28, 2012

Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa, Galena, IL

"As a profession, the greatest challenge is too many lawyers who don’t understand that it is a profession."

 W. Wright Danenbarger, New Hampshire attorney - quoted in New HampshireOnline Editions, January, 1995

The ongoing legal trend is to improve civility and professionalism in the practice of law. As norms in society evolve, so, too, should ethics in the legal practice. Join us in Galena for a multi-day CLE seminar focusing on both legal education and professional development. Move from mainstream to streamlined in such current topics as civility in our profession, ethical dilemmas in social media, and the impact of the new Illinois Civil Unions law. Be an integral part of the improvement of the legal profession through a greater understanding of the ethical dilemmas we face, how we can avoid ethical pitfalls, and how to solve problems in a more civil and professional manner.

We have amassed a unique team of speakers, each one a leader in his or her field. Our speakers range from an ADR judge involved with DCFS to a former commercial litigator, Jeopardy! champion and very funny legal blogger who is now the Deputy Director of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism. Reporting requirements now require Illinois attorneys to submit six professional responsibility hours for the 2012/13 reporting deadlines. This seminar is geared to provide you with your professional responsibility hours while you relax with your family in at a Galena weekend getaway.
